The construction of a private gas pipeline on the Palladam-Tiruppur road has been going on for the last few months. The pit dug for this was not sealed properly. Due to this, there is a risk of accidents for motorists.

In some places, they have dug pits in the middle of the road, saying that they are carrying out pipeline work at Rotoram. They are half closed when the works are completed. Due to this, vehicle accidents occur frequently.
On the busy Tirupur road, such negligence can lead to major accidents.
The private companies concerned have reportedly been paid compensation. Therefore, the highway department should take immediate steps to repair the damaged road without delay.
