Mouhoun: The regional directorate in charge of secondary education develops its 2024 activity plan

Dédougou, (AIB) – The Boucle du Mouhoun Regional Directorate of Post-Primary and Secondary Education (DREPS) held from Thursday September 21 to Friday September 22, 2023 in Dédougou, a workshop to develop its action plan for the year 2024. The opening of the work was chaired by the Head of the human resources management department, Clément Ki representing the regional director.

The success of any human work necessarily requires good programming and planning of the actions to be carried out.

Based on this observation, the Boucle du Mouhoun regional directorate of post-primary and secondary education initiates a results-based planning and financing session each year for its action plan.

His approach is part of the search for the quality of teaching and the improvement of the educational offer in the province of Mouhoun (Boucle du Mouhoun)

Indeed, the Boucle du Mouhoun Regional Directorate of Post-Primary and Secondary Education (DREPS) works to meet the challenges of education as well as the educational continuity of thousands of internally displaced students (EDI).

The results of the action plan for the year 2023 present a physical execution rate of 35.77% for the access to education component, 32.15% for the quality component and 13.15% for management, i.e. an overall physical execution rate of 27.02%.

Regarding financial execution, we recorded a rate of 62% for the access component, 57.02% for quality and 23% for management, i.e. an overall financial execution rate of 47.34%.

These different performances of the action plan for the year 2023 experienced a decline due to the security situation which impacted activities on the ground.

For the action plan for the year 2024, it is being developed in a context still marked by the security crisis characterized by the gradual resumption of school activities in certain localities in the region.

The action plan is financed by the State budget and the contribution of certain education partners.

According to the representative of the regional director, Clément Ki, the development of the DREPS 2024 action plan is part of a national context marked by the security crisis which affects all sectors of activity.

In the field of education, the security situation has led to the closure of many secondary schools with a massive influx of internally displaced students in all provinces of the region.

“The 2024 action plan of the DREPS Boucle du Mouhoun takes into account the activities of the six provincial directorates of post-primary and secondary education (DPEPS)” he said.

The Boucle du Mouhoun Regional Directorate of Post-Primary and Secondary Education covers six provinces: Balé, Banwa, Kossi, Mouhoun, Nayala and Sourou.

It should be noted that the DREPS’ mission is to implement and coordinate the ministry’s policy in matters of post-primary and secondary general, technical and vocational education at the regional level.
