Two Dead, Two Injured in Surry County Shooting Examination
Mount Airy, North Carolina – A shooting in Surry County on Thursday left two peopel dead and two others injured, prompting an ongoing investigation by teh State Bureau of Investigation (SBI). The incident occurred on Welcome Baptist Church Road in Mount Airy, according to authorities.
The SBI confirmed the fatalities and injuries, with agency spokesperson Chad Flowers stating that two victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Flowers also reported that two of the injured were transported to a hospital via air ambulance for further medical attention.
The location of the shooting, directly across the street from Welcome Baptist Church, initially raised concerns of potential involvement. however, a statement posted on the church’s Facebook page clarified that the incident did not involve any members or personnel associated with the church.
