A highly regarded former player is returning to the sidelines. On January 15, 2026, Mount St. Mary’s University announced that Arden Lembry will join the women’s soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2026 season.
Lembry, a 2024 graduate, distinguished herself during her four years as a Mountaineer, accumulating over 2,400 minutes in goal and recording 169 saves. Her contributions translated to 11 combined wins and draws for the team. A defining moment of her collegiate career came during the 2023 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship First Round against Niagara University. Lembry stepped into the net during the penalty shootout, successfully defending against all but one attempt, propelling Mount St. Mary’s to advance in the tournament.
“It is great to welcome Arden back to her alma mater,” said Head Coach Liz Abbott. “She comes highly respected and regarded by anyone who has had a chance to work with her and will be an exemplary role model and mentor for the girls. We are very lucky to have her back!”
From the Pitch to Player Development
Following her graduation, Lembry returned to her home state of New Jersey, where she spent a graduate season as a reserve goalkeeper for Rutgers University. Demonstrating a swift transition to coaching, she then served as the Director of Player Development for Rutgers’ soccer program last season, honing her skills in player mentorship and strategic development.
Building on a Foundation
Lembry joins Abbott as she begins her second season leading the Mount women’s soccer program. Assistant Coach Chuck Hommey will also return for the 2026 season, providing continuity to the coaching staff. The team concluded the previous season with an overall record of 3-12-2, and a 1-9-2 record within the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
The addition of Lembry signals a commitment to fostering talent and building a competitive program at Mount St. Mary’s, leveraging the experience of a successful alumna to inspire the next generation of Mountaineer soccer players.
