The three teams will be at the start of the next Tour of Colombia, the Colombian Cycling Federation announced this Thursday.

The Movistar, Astana and EF Education-Easypost teams will be at the start of the next Tour of Colombia which resumes after a three-year interruption, the Colombian Cycling Federation (FCC) announced on Thursday. Interrupted since 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic and lack of financial resources, the race will take place from February 6 to 11.

Movistar, Astana and EF Education-Easypost, three World Tour teams, will each field six riders whose names will be announced in January, specifies the FCC.

The organizers have so far given the name of a star guest: the 38-year-old Briton Mark Cavendish (Astana), former world champion and winner of 34 stages of the Tour de France.

Another notable presence, that of the Colombian Nairo Quintana (33 years old), returned to Movistar after a blank year following his disqualification at the end of the Tour de France in 2022.

The last three editions of the Tour of Colombia have been won by local riders Egan Bernal (2018), Miguel Angel Lopez (2019) and Sergio Higuita (2020).
