The Federal Public Ministry and the Federal Public Defender’s Office took a stand against the compulsory hospitalization of drug users in Rio de Janeiro. The document was sent to Rio City Hall, this Friday (24), after Eduardo Paes announced that he is considering implementing the measure in the city. Both bodies issued a technical note, through the Regional Public Prosecutor’s Office for Citizens’ Rights, alleging that the measure is unconstitutional, hygienic and violates the integrity of human beings.
