Bolsonaro government tried to illegally bring to Brazil a set of jewels valued at 3 million euros (R$ 16.5 million)
The Federal Public Ministry (MPF) started a procedure to investigate the former president of the Republic Jair Bolsonaro
(PL) and former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro
for the crime of embezzlement in the case of jewels brought from Saudi Arabia. The opening of the process took place from a representation made by the deputy Luciene Cavalcante (PSOL-SP). The framework was indicated this week.
In the action against the former representative, deputy Luciene Cavalcante claims that the alleged conduct of Bolsonaro, Michelle, Bento Albuquerque and Gomes to release millionaire objects are marked by “immorality, unreasonableness and damage to public coffers”
and need to be investigated.
According to columnist Mônica Bergamo, from Folha de São Paulo, the case was assigned to the Federal District Attorney, Caio Vaez Dias. Dias is part of the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco) of the MPF in the DF.
