Speaker on the occasion of the 1st International Academic-Industrial Forum placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and organized by the National School of Arts and Crafts (ENSAM-Rabat) in partnership with the Regional Chamber of Commerce , Industry and Services (CCIS) of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Mr. Miraoui underlined the importance of strengthening “soft skills” in the training of students in various disciplines, with regard to their role in stimulating innovation and creating difference.
In this sense, he indicated that the challenge today is how to train young people, who will not only support the changes, but will anticipate these transformations capable of allowing companies to be innovative and competitive on the international level.
Furthermore, Mr. Miraoui specified that this meeting takes place within the framework of the National Plan to accelerate the transformation of the ESRI ecosystem (PACTE ESRI 2030), for the rapprochement of the Moroccan university with industrial companies, noting, however, that challenges still need to be met in the context of current transformations, particularly in terms of artificial intelligence, water and energy.
For his part, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, specified that the Forum addresses a theme of capital importance which involves actors who operate in environments different, from the professional world and the academic world.
Mr. Sekkouri also noted that this theme will make it possible to strengthen the relationship between the academic and entrepreneurial world and job creation, emphasizing the importance of this “link” between business leaders and academics, which is essential for the orientation of students and their integration into the job market.
Morocco’s positioning in certain sectors will be further strengthened through such initiatives, he added, noting that it is a question of associating the private sector in the design and revitalization of skills for professional integration. .
Likewise, he cited the model of vocational training institutions in Morocco, with nearly 300 specialties in line with the demands of the labor market, in the fields of technology, industry and agriculture.
For his part, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Taoufik Moucharaf, announced that Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, has begun a new industrial era oriented towards Sovereignty.
On this subject, he affirmed that the role of innovation is crucial to propel the country towards the forefront of technological and industrial innovation and strengthen the competitiveness of the national industrial fabric.
The Chinese Ambassador to Morocco, Mr. Li Changlin, for his part, indicated that Morocco is following new technological developments, noting that China would like to work in synergy with Moroccan research centers, with the aim of meeting common challenges. and better position ourselves in the future, facing a constantly changing world.
This Forum under the theme “Innovation in the service of development: What academic-industrial joint venture?” is part of the implementation of the High Royal Guidelines aimed at achieving the objectives of the New Development Model of the Kingdom. It will focus on four panels focused on the themes of “water and climate change”, “aeronautics and automobiles”, “digital health serving research and healthcare provision”, as well as as “energy and the environment”.
