Mr. Subramanian’s negotiations with the contract nurse association this evening – will the struggle end?

The tenure of 2300 nurses who were employed on contract basis during the Corona crisis ended on 31st. No extension was given thereafter.

Due to this, they started protesting. After this, the government primary health centers, 708 urban government primary health centers which will be newly started will be re-commissioned. The government also announced that the salary will be increased from Rs.14 thousand to Rs.18 thousand.

But they are struggling insisting on the demand that the work should be made permanent.

In the meantime, it is said on the part of the nurses that they were recruited after everything including certificate verification was conducted.

The health department is investigating this. This evening a discussion is going on with the Nurses’ Association under the leadership of Minister M. Subramanian. So will the struggle end? It will be known after today’s talks.
