New Delhi: On the complaint of former Indian captain MS Dhoni, his childhood friend Mihir Diwakar was arrested. Mihir Diwakar has been a part of the Indian team in the Under-19 World Cup held in the year 2000. Dhoni and Mihir started playing cricket at almost the same time. When Dhoni became a successful player, Mihir Diwakar opened a company by the name of Arka Sports Management Private Limited. Dhoni became his business partner. It is alleged that Mihir Diwakar, from the same company, defrauded the former Indian captain of Rs 15 crore. Dhoni had filed a complaint against Diwakar and his wife Soumya Das in the District Court Ranchi.
Arrested from Jaipur
The matter was pending in the court for the last several months. A defamation case was also filed against Dhoni by Mihir Diwakar. Now finally Jaipur Police on Tuesday took into custody Mihir Diwakar, Director of Arka Sports Management Private Limited. The arrest comes in response to allegations of unauthorized use of Dhoni’s name for setting up cricket academies.

What is the whole matter?
Actually, in this case, Arka Sports of Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwas along with Dhoni made a plan to open cricket academies in many big cities of the world. According to the deal, Mihir Diwakar had to pay franchise fees to Dhoni. Under the agreement, profit was also to be shared. But when this did not happen, Dhoni withdrew the authorization letter from Arka Sports on 15 August 2021 and also sent legal notices to suffer. But there was no response, finally a case of fraud was filed on Dhoni’s behalf.
Mihir is a former under-19 playerMihir, born in Siwan, Bihar, is 41 years old and has played 39 first-class and 36 List A matches between 1999 and 2009. He was also part of the Indian team for the 2000 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He was also a right-handed batsman and medium fast bowler. Played many matches in domestic cricket with Dhoni and dreamed of joining the Indian team together.
