MSP advances towards digital transformation with the delivery of 4,225 computers to health establishments in Ecuador – Ministry of Public Health

In order to guarantee the quality of the provision of health services, we are advancing in the improvement of prioritized equipment. The Ministry of Public Health (MSP) with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) acquired 4,225 computers that will be distributed to health establishments in the country.

The investment is $3.3 million dollars and is part of the project for the acquisition of equipment for digitalization in health. Additionally, 2,387 UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) devices were included in the purchase lot.

José Ruales, Minister of Public Health, made the announcement at the Enrique Garcés General Hospital in Quito. He pointed out that the computers will be distributed in health centers and hospitals in the country. “The computer equipment is a step towards digital transformation to install single medical record, telemedicine and inventory systems,” he said.

Likewise, he informed that it includes the improvement of the connectivity system in all MSP establishments.
