With the purpose of reporting the progress of the construction plan for the Repowering of the Alausí Hospital, the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) and the municipal GAD shared the final studies that are part of the pre-contractual phase of the work, this Thursday 13 July 2023.
The planned investment is $31.2 million, of which $29.2 million are earmarked for the work and approximately $2 million for supervision of the cantonal health center that will benefit more than 50,000 inhabitants.
Local authorities; citizenship; members of the cantonal Civic Committee and representatives of the Alausí media attended the meeting that appears in the planned roadmap.
“We crystallized a dream of all Alauseños, I am sure that this hospital will be a benchmark at the provincial level. Today we see that the project is advancing at a good pace”, indicated Remigio Roldán, mayor of the GAD of Alausí.
The start of the work is expected in the second half of 2023 with a delivery period of 2 years for the final and operational delivery of the Alausí Basic Hospital.
José Avilés, Zonal 3 Health coordinator, reported that the Hospital will have 70 beds and outpatient, emergency, rehabilitation, surgical center, obstetric center, imaging, surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, transfusion medicine, pharmacy, nutrition, and dietetic services. .
For the MSP, the repowering of the Alausí Hospital is a priority and is part of the actions to guarantee timely access and quality to health services nationwide.
