Former Fatah leader criticizes Hamas and Abbas in wake of Israel massacre

Muhammad Dahlan, once a prominent leader of the Fatah organization, has spoken out against Hamas and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in the aftermath of a deadly massacre in Israel. The attack, which sparked a war, has resulted in widespread destruction in the Gaza Strip, according to Dahlan.

During his speech, Dahlan also commented on a hint from Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah to Israel and the United States. He also shared a personal story of a grandmother being captured by Hamas and her grandson being murdered, describing it as a “hope that exploded” and lamenting a broken heart.

Dahlan, who was exiled to the United Arab Emirates by Abbas, criticized the Palestinian leader and urged support from the international community. He stated, “We are trying to get out of the situation we are in. The people of the Muqta must stand with us and bring in financial aid instead of making statements.”

Despite his past leadership role, Dahlan asserted that he does not foresee reuniting with the Palestinian leadership in the future. Regarding the ongoing conflict, he remarked, “A chapter in a long series that will not end.” He also expressed the possibility of the massacre in Israel serving as a catalyst for peace, or perhaps “a new gate in hell.”

Dahlan’s comments come as the conflict between Israel and Hamas shows no signs of abating, with both sides suffering heavy casualties and significant damage. As the situation continues to develop, the former Fatah leader’s perspective adds a complex layer to the multifaceted conflict.
