Ulundharpet: At Ulundharpet Sarada Ashram, on the occasion of the month of Adi, a Mulaipari ceremony was held to pray for the prosperity of agriculture.
On the occasion of the festival, people from more than 100 villages including Ulundharpet, Kattunemili, Palliyanthankal, Pullar, R.R. Kuppam, Gunamangalam, Chatanur, Itakal, Asanur, Pu. Konalavadi, Moolasamuthram, Valliyur and other villages keep paddy and navathaniyam and keep fast for 9 days and bring them to Sarada Ashram for Pongal. Sarathampal was specially decorated and blessed the devotees. After the worship, the villagers took the mulaiparis home to cultivate their land.
