Multiple People Injured in Car Crash in Bäckebol, Gothenburg
Saturday evening turned chaotic in Bäckebol on Hisingen as a car crash resulted in several people being injured. The incident occurred shortly after 21:00, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.
According to SOS, five individuals were rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. The scene was described as messy, with emergency personnel from both the ambulance and police departments working together to manage the situation.
A witness who was present at the time of the incident shared his account with GP. He stated that the car crash happened amidst a gathering of approximately 500 people in the parking lot. Due to the smoke caused by the accident, he was unable to determine the exact number of people who were hit. Feeling the situation spiraling out of control, the witness decided to leave.
The witness further revealed that he had noticed a significant number of people in the parking lot of the department stores in Bäckebol while driving on the E6. Intrigued, he decided to enter the area. Only five to ten minutes later, chaos unfolded.
Interestingly, the witness noted that the organization responsible for organizing the street race in Bäckebol has a history of conducting similar unlicensed events in the Gothenburg area. In fact, they have caused such havoc in Kållered that the municipality had to erect roadblocks to address the issue.
GP reached out to the police in Gothenburg for their comment on the matter. As of now, it is unclear what action will be taken against the organization or the individuals involved in the car crash.
