Four Injured in Serious Truck Accident, Road Closed Until 5pm
Four people have been taken to the hospital following a serious truck accident in Sweden. The incident, which occurred at half past five in the morning, has left a woman with very serious injuries, while a man is being treated for serious injuries but is in stable condition. The other two injured individuals have been discharged with minor injuries, according to the NU healthcare press service.
The accident led to several people having to be cut out of the trucks, according to the police. One of the trucks has overturned and is blocking the road in both directions. As a result, the road is closed in both directions, and the rescue work is expected to take several hours.
The Swedish Transport Administration estimates that the road will remain closed until 5 p.m. “It is a truck that is leaking diesel and goods that are scattered all over the area,” said Daniel Mossberg, press spokesperson at the Swedish Transport Administration.
The police are investigating the accident as a traffic offence with the criminal classifications of negligence in traffic and causing bodily harm. Traffic is being diverted via route 920.
