Mumbai: Sanju Samson and Basil Thampi are the Malayalee superstars in the IPL. Both of them put out a formidable performance in the first match.
Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Sunrisers scored a half-century in the match against Hyderabad to lead the team to victory. He scored 55 off 27 balls to win the Player of the Match award. Devdutt Padikkal, another Malayalee in the team, put on 73 runs for the third wicket.
Basil Thampi, the pace bowler of the Mumbai Indians, bowled well against the Delhi Capitals. The Malayalee pacer took three wickets for 35 runs in four overs. Mumbai lost the match by four wickets but Basil’s performance was met with applause.
Now the teams of Basil and Sanju are coming face to face. Mumbai Indians will take on Rajasthan Royals in a match on Saturday. Prior to this, a picture of Malayalee stars has been tweeted in Mumbai.
‘Pillar in Kerala is playing’ Basil tweeted a picture of himself with Sanju and wrote about Mumbai. Many fans commented on this tweet. Mumbai’s tweet in Malayalam has also been picked up by fans in Kerala. Mumbai tweeted that they are waiting for the competition of this child from Kerala.
Sanju also shared this picture on Facebook. Sanju posted the movie titled ‘Thampi Aliyan’.
