Mumbai: There are only ten days left for the 15th season of IPL 2022. All franchises are in training. The Mumbai Indians will play their first match on the 27th against Delhi Capitals. But Mumbai have suffered a major setback. Superstar Suryakumar Yadav is unlikely to play in their first match.
Suryakumar is one of the three players retained by the Mumbai Indians. It has been reported that he has not fully recovered from his injury sustained during the series against the Windies. He is currently under the care of the National Cricket Academy.
A BCCI spokesman said: “Surya is still in the NCA. He has not fully recovered from his injury. It is doubtful whether he will be able to play in the first IPL match. It is possible that the BCCI medical team will tell him not to play, “he explained.
Apart from Surya, Mumbai have retained Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard. Ishan Kishan will be auctioned for Rs 15.25 crore. They are the stronghold of the Mumbai Indians. There is a five-day break after the match against Delhi. It is estimated that by then the sun injury will have completely healed.
Mumbai Indians are in Group A of the IPL. Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants are in Group A along with Mumbai.

There will be 74 matches. Of these, 70 matches will be played in Mumbai and Pune. The final of the play-offs will be played on May 29 in Ahmedabad. The 20 matches will be played at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium and Brabourne.
DY Patil Stadium and MC Stadium will be the venues for 15 matches each. Spectators will be admitted to the stadium. In the first weeks of the league, the decision was made to admit spectators to 50 per cent of the seats in the stadiums and then 75 per cent of the seats. But the state governments will be consulted in this regard.
