Mumbai : There is good news for devotees in the ten-day Ganeshotsav. BEST has organized special services to take Ganesh devotees to popular pandals overnight. This experiment has been successfully done by BEST for the last few years. From September 7 to September 16, BEST will run 24 services of special buses throughout the night from 11 pm to 6 am. Metro fares have been reduced and time has been increased by half an hour. At the same time, MMRD is going to build a 50 km road in Mumbai and Thane.

Where and how to get the best buses at night

These special bus services will cover routes connecting South Mumbai to the eastern and western suburbs, allowing devotees to easily reach famous pandals located in areas like Girgaon, Lalbaug, Parel, and Chembur. The bus routes include 4 Limited, 7 Limited, 8 Limited, A-21, A-25, A-42, 44, 66, 69, and C-51. These special buses have been instructed to board or deboard as per passenger convenience. Inspectors will be deployed at bus stops to monitor these buses. Their job will be to monitor the operation of the buses.

During Ganeshotsav, the Mahamumbai Metro Corporation has decided to extend the duration of metro service between September 11 and September 17. CIDCO reduced metro fare

CIDCO has reduced the fare of Navi Mumbai Metro running from Belapur to Pendhar by up to 33%. The new fare rate will be applicable from September 7. Under the new fare, the minimum fare will be Rs 10 and the maximum will be Rs 30.

CIDCO MD Vijay Singhal said that this step has been taken to make metro a fast and comfortable travel option for more passengers. The new fare will benefit short and long distance passengers. The fare has been reduced to provide relief to the passengers traveling on this route. According to the new rates, the fare will be Rs. 10 for 0 to 2 km. and 2 to 4 km., Rs. 20 for 4 to 6 km. and 6 to 8 km. and Rs. 30 for 8 to 10 km. and beyond. Earlier the fare from Belapur Terminal to Pendhar was Rs. 40, which has now been reduced to Rs. 30.

Traffic problem will end in Mumbai and Thane

To reduce traffic problems in Mumbai and Thane, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will build a 50 km long new route. This 50 km long route will be built under nine projects. To speed up the proposed project, the 282nd meeting of the authority was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary of the state. During the meeting, the appointment of contractors for the nine proposed projects has been approved. After the appointment of the contractor, the way has been cleared to start the construction work of the project. All these projects are related to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Thane. MMRDA had started the tender process for these projects even before the Lok Sabha elections.

Before the code of conduct for the assembly elections came into force, MMRDA has completed the process of allotting the project. According to Chief Minister and MMRDA Chairman Eknath Shinde, the construction of the new route will provide better connectivity to the citizens. Commuters will get relief from the problem of traffic jams.
