Thangam is a film directed by Shaheed Arafat and written by Shyam Pushkaran in collaboration with Vineeth Srinivasan and Biju Menon. The story is based on the lives of two goldsmiths named Kannan and Muth.

The story revolves around Kannan, played by Vineet Srinivasan, who dies under mysterious circumstances and then the Mumbai police arrive to investigate the case. Girish Kulkarni will be the investigating officer of Mumbai Police. Actor and screenwriter Girish Kulkarni gave an amazing performance as Jayant Sakhalkar, a shrewd police officer. When the investigating officers from Mumbai come to Kerala, they naturally speak Hindi and make fun of them. But in Tangam it is felt that language is given great importance. Even when Biju Menon and Vineeth Thattil join David, Girish Kulkarni and the team to investigate the case, the way they handle language is very interesting.
Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil are also available in three languages. Even if the audience does not understand when it is called an investigation thriller, unnecessary complications are included. The background score is used to create an artificial mood in the audience. But the music and background score of Thangam were very much in harmony with the film.

The difficulties and pressures of solving a complex case are also present in Tangam. But the film moves to new characters and story premises very interestingly without getting boring anywhere. The inner mysteries of man and the burning lives of brilliant goldsmiths are shadowed in gold.
Giving gold is a different experience for the audience who are tired of seeing the investigation team and the police officers proving the case month by month. The acting of Girish Kulkarni and other police officers with him is highly commendable. The second half of the film was entirely in the hands of Girish Kulkarni.
Thangam is an investigation story that can be called a realistic thriller movie. Thangam’s matte has not diminished due to the flow of the story, perfect cast and visual excellence. Although the climax is not completely left to the audience, Thangam is a distinct investigative experience.
