Kumar incident

Kumar left home at the age of fifteen with the aim of becoming a cricketer. Kumar didn’t just come down with a revelation. Although his father Shyam Mat Singh was a police officer, the family was troubled by financial difficulties. Due to his desire to become a well-known cricketer in the country, Kumar left home because he was concerned not to push his family into more financial difficulties. Kumar also took a vow to return home after becoming a well-known cricketer. But it took nine long years for Kumar to grow into a cricketer the nation cares about. As a left-arm spinner, Kumar became one of Mumbai’s wonder boys even as Mumbai disappointed as a team in the last IPL season.

The pitch of crises did not spin and fall

Kumar, who came to Delhi from Uttar Pradesh at the age of 15, only knew a friend who played league matches in Delhi. With the help of a friend, he secured a job in a factory 80 km from Delhi. When Kumar thought of working at night and playing cricket during the day.

Realizing that he would not be able to get admission in cricket academies in Delhi without paying money, Kumar went to Bhardwaj Academy in Delhi. Even there, when the financial crisis came up, he got admission in the academy with the word that he had no money in his hand and that if he became a famous player someday, he would pay off the entire debt. Even then, the distance of 80 km from the place of work to the academy became a challenge for Kumar. Finally, Kumar decided to go half the distance by bus and the other half by walking. The coach came to know about this and arranged accommodation for Kumar near the academy.

Soon he joined Madhya Pradesh’s Ranji team, but IPL still remained a big dream. He participated in the star auction last season as well, but no one called him. While he was still Mumbai’s net bowler, luck came to Kumar in the form of Arshad Khan’s injury. Mumbai’s Kumar was brought into the team for a base price of Rs 20 lakh. Kumar, like Tilak Verma, was considered one of Mumbai’s future stars when he took one wicket for 19 runs in four overs against Rajasthan Royals on his debut. Kumar’s first IPL wicket was of Malayalee player Sanju Samson. Kumar took five wickets in four matches for Mumbai in the IPL.

Kumar was also part of the Madhya Pradesh team that won the Ranji title this season. In the final against Mumbai, Kumar shone with five wickets, including four in the second innings. After winning Ranji and IPL, Kumar’s next dream is the Indian team.
