Two rounds of standing applause for the man whose country may be on the verge of a Russian invasion: “The applause goes to Ukraine and its soldiers,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj at the Munich Security Conference at the weekend. Despite the highly dramatic situation, he left Kiev for a few hours to present his view of things to the assembled heads of state and government in Munich: that the EU and NATO should finally be clear about whether they really want to take in Ukraine or not. And in doing so, Zelenskyj believes, give her protection from her Russian neighbors.
