On Wednesday, March 6, 2024 in the area affected by the landslide in the Alausí canton in a joint action between the Municipal Autonomous Decentralized Government of Alausí (GADMC), the Geological and Energy Research Institute, and the National Management Secretariat of Risks, geophysical investigations are being carried out in the area affected by landslides and its surroundings.

The main objective of these investigations is to evaluate the areas of susceptibility to landslides, with a view to determining the necessary measures to stabilize the affected areas. This inter-institutional effort seeks to guarantee the safety of residents and prevent future incidents related to landslides.
