The situation with coronavirus in Russia is extremely tense and continues to deteriorate, Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said during a visit to the Kursk Regional Clinical Hospital.

“The situation that is taking place in the country today with a new coronavirus infection, it remains simply extremely tense and is escalating so far,” said Murashko (quoted by TASS). More than 1 million coronavirus patients are under medical supervision, he added.

The minister noted that everyone who has had COVID-19 needs to undergo an in-depth medical examination. After treatment for coronavirus, patients may experience toxic liver damage.

Over the past day, 27,246 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in Russia – the maximum since December 31, 2020.The indicator for the second day in a row exceeds 27 thousand.On October 8, a new anti-record was registered for the number of deaths from coronavirus per day – 936. From September 29, the indicator exceeds the level in 800 deaths, three days in a row – 900. According to Rospotrebnadzor, now an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 is noted in 67 of 85 regions of Russia. Against this background, the regions began to tighten up antiquated measures.

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said earlier that no lockdown would be introduced in Russia. Golikova noted that the increase in the incidence in September was 31% and “immediately started with high numbers,” so that daily cases could reach 30,000 cases.
