Murder Charges and TV3 Connection: Updates on Uppsala Villa Shooting

by time news

A 19-year-old man has been charged with murder and two men, 18 and 20 years old, have been charged with, among other things, aiding and abetting murder. In addition, a 24-year-old man has been charged with aggravated protection of a criminal.

Since before, the leader of the Foxtrot network, Rawa Majid, has been detained in absentia, on probable grounds suspected of complicity in the murder.

– The murder is judged to be revenge for other serious crime in a conflict between people who are involved in serious organized crime, says District Attorney Mikael Carlsson, who is the head of the preliminary investigation.

The son was singled out in TV3

It was in January last year that a villa just outside Uppsala was shelled. Two men were arrested in their absence on suspicion of the crime and in March they were singled out in a television program on TV3. Just a few hours later, the father of one of them was murdered in his home in Tullinge.

JO investigates the Public Prosecutor’s Office

In September last year, the Judicial Ombudsman started an investigation against the Public Prosecutor’s Office. This is because, according to the report, there may be a causal connection between the wanted person on television and the murder. Among other things, they want answers to which guidelines and routines exist for disclosing information from a preliminary investigation.

SVT has previously met the murdered man’s father, who together with other family members reported both the prosecutor and the police for not having protected relatives sufficiently when they approved the publication of names and pictures.
