Washington: A US court has dismissed the case against a Saudi prince over the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Famous journalist Jamal Khashoggi has written articles strongly criticizing the government of Saudi Arabia and its king and princes. He was brutally killed in the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Istanbul, Turkey in 2018.

Turkey accused the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, of being behind the massacre, which caused strong shocks around the world. Turkey insisted that he should be arrested and brought before the law. But the Saudi Arabian government categorically denied this. Countries including the United States and Britain also claimed that Jamal Khashoggi was assassinated on the orders of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

In this situation, a case was being prosecuted in the United States against Saudi Prince Salman in connection with this murder. The case was filed by Jamal’s girlfriend Hadija Jenkis.

In this situation, Salman was appointed as the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia by the King of Saudi Arabia. Following this, the US court said that the case against Salman was dismissed on the basis of sovereignty in Jamal’s murder case. Jamal Khashoggi’s girlfriend has strongly objected to this.
