On the Night of Museums, May 20, Narvitians visited a new museum – MotoNurk, opened by local residents, father and son Andrei and Vladimir Losev. The museum is located in the former boiler house on the Gloria Bastion near the Art Gallery of the Narva Museum. Three halls present a model range of pre-war and military German motorcycles DKW of the NZ line, as well as Soviet IZH motorcycles that followed them.

On the Night of Museums, admission to the exposition and guided tours, held every hour from 18.00 to 23.00, were free. Andrei and Vladimir rejoiced at the large number of people who came to them and treated everyone to tea from a samovar. The guests were delighted with the exhibits, took pictures with them and tried to get on motorcycles all the time.

“My passion for motorcycles began in childhood,” said Andrey Losev. – We drove IZH-49 around the city, I really liked it, despite the fact that my father had older motorcycles at that time – both Ural and IZH with a sidecar. Then I forgot about motorcycles – study, work, and remembered them closer to the age of 50, when I saw the same IZH-49 in the yard of a friend – already broken and dismantled. A friend gave it to me, and that’s how it all started.

The assembled motorcycles were in the basement, in the garage, there was a time when one motorcycle was in my apartment. Collected one motorcycle, assembled the second, then motorcycles went DKW, I had to think about where to put them. In 2021, my son and I decided to purchase this building at Westervalli 17A and are ready to show motorcycles to everyone.”

Andrei and Vladimir shared that in the future they plan to make a permanent exhibition with motorcycles in a large room, and current exhibitions will be held in two smaller halls. “Since each of us has a main job, we cannot be in the museum all the time. But by prior arrangement, we are always ready to come and show our motorcycles, and there are already those who wish,” Vladimir said.
