Mushfiqur Rahim pulled Tanzeem Hassan Shakib over the boundary for a superb four. Tamim Iqbal’s team could not overcome the run hill of Abahani Limited despite Mushfiqur’s century raising doubts in the procession of his teammates.
Abahani-Prime Bank clash on Monday (April 15) at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. After losing the toss, Mohammad Naeem Sheikh-Nazmul Hossain Shantar scored 341 runs for Abahani. Even after Mushfiqur’s century to chase, Primebank stopped at 283 runs. Abahani won by 58 runs. With this, the blue-blue jersey holders have won 10 consecutive matches. The pair broke when Shanta was bowled out for 118 runs in 48.3 overs. Shanto scored this run with 13 fours and 4 sixes in just 85 balls. This is Shant’s 11th century in List ‘A’ cricket. First in the current season. The century will act as a tonic for the off-form Shantae against Sri Lanka.
After Shantar’s dismissal, Afif Hossain returned with no runs. Tawheed finished the innings with the new batsman Zaker Ali Anik. He was unbeaten on 65 off just 35 balls.
Two pacers Hasan Mahmud-Rezaur Rahman Raja scored runs for Prime Bank. Both gave 76 runs in equal 10 overs. Hasan got 2 wickets but Raja got 1 wicket.
