(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 11 – ROME, AUG 11 – Master Gianluigi Gelmetti died at the age of 75 in Montecarlo. This was announced by the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma which received the news from family members. Gelmetti occupies a special place in the Olympus of the great performers, also for the vastness and versatility of his repertoire. He has directed all over the world. He was Music Director at the Rome Opera for ten years, after spending nine years at the Stuttgart Radio Orchestra, then the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. From 2012 to 2016 he was musical and artistic director of the Orchester Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo. (HANDLE).
