Music: Oasis reunion could net £400m

by time news

Birmingham University estimates (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) – Milan, 27 August – The first 14 dates of Oasis’ next tour – with the Gallagher brothers announcing their reunion after 15 years this morning – could generate £400 million in ticket sales and other extra income, with Liam and Noel potentially earning £50 million each. These are the estimates from Birmingham University. Although ticket prices have not yet been revealed (they will go on sale on Friday) it is likely that they will have increased tenfold compared to 1995, when tickets for their UK tour cost £14.

According to the director of the music business degree program at Birmingham City University, the Gallagher brothers could double their net worth in a matter of weeks. If they decide to take their tour around Europe, their earnings could multiply.
