Mettupalayam: Based on the sequence of Tamil characters, the Coimbatore student has achieved the feat of singing for four and a half hours continuously in various languages including Tamil. Mettupalayam is the daughter of Rajasekaran and Rajalakshmi Tejaswi. A seventh grader, he is studying music at Sri Sai Kalasetra. The Kalasetra teachers trained for a month to participate in the student world record attempt.
Of these, 247 songs with the first letters of the 247 Tamil alphabet, 247 minutes followed by a singing program took place yesterday, at the Odiyappa Sports Academy training hall. The event was presided over by Sai Kalasethra teacher Balasubramaniam. Sukuna Kannan, Coordinator, Jack Book of World Records, Sirkazhi, officiated. The show started at 10:30 in the morning. Student Tejaswi has set a record by singing devotional and film songs in Tamil, English, Hindi and Malayalam till 2:30 pm.
