Music without barriers returns to the Cigno Elderly Residential Homes

by time news

Yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 4 September, the guests of the “La Meridiana” Nursing Home were able to attend with their families, the operators, and the President of the City Council Filippo Rossini, representing the Administration, the classical music concert of the young talents of the “Cherubini” orchestra founded by Maestro Riccardo Muti. It was an event of great cultural and artistic level that involved the guests of the facility, their families and the Institutions for an hour. An innovative project of great quality that sees in the music a tool for socialization and social inclusion.

“Since June, the music of these young talents has entered our facilities – he states Annagrazia Giannini, General Manager of the Cooperative – in fact, there are 4 concerts of the Cherubini Orchestra scheduled in the Cigno Elderly Residential Homes. On September 4th at 4 pm, the String Quintet was held at the CRA “La Meridiana” del Cigno, to end on September 6th at the CRA “Le Grazie” in Rimini with the harp and violin duo. The concerts are aimed not only at the guests of the facility but also at their families, involving the entire Community and the Institutions: for our Cooperative, in fact, it is essential to be open to the territory by also sharing our activities. This innovative project is part of our annual program of entertainment and events with the aim of encouraging the elderly towards socialization and combating loneliness. In this sense, we want to satisfy the needs of our guests, not only by guaranteeing social health care, but also personal care”.

A daily gesture of care. “This third event proposed by the ‘La Meridiana’ Nursing Home and the ‘Il Cigno’ cooperative – comments the President of the City Council Filippo Rossini – represents further confirmation of the great inclusive, social and healing power of music. Initiatives of this type improve the quality of life of people, especially our elderly. Over the years, by developing and promoting projects focused on the elderly, we have seen how the relational dimension is the true added value of every initiative. The relationship identifies us and identifies others, it also allows us to recognize contexts and to attribute meaning to events, experiences and life itself”.
