On Wednesday, Sol Heilo experienced every artist’s worst nightmare: all her music equipment was stolen.
The equipment was stored in a trailer that the thieves made off with from her home in Bærum.
Heilo is desperate to get her equipment back. She was advised to hire a private investigator to help out.
The campaign was launched on Wednesday, and by Friday morning it had exceeded 250,000 kroner.
– I am actually completely shocked that so many have contributed, and that so much has come in. It’s completely overwhelming, and I am so touched. Now I can start private investigations instantly, and that is just fantastic. So I am totally blown away, really. Totally blown away, says Heilo.
She says the loss of the trailer is a small thing in the world, but a tragedy for her.
Performing Thursday evening
Heilo is known from the band Katzenjammer and participated in the TV 2 program “Hver gang vi møtes” in 2019.
The trailer reportedly contained between 30 and 50 instruments. Many of the instruments she made herself, and are difficult to replace.

The trailer also contained several artworks and music records she usually sells after concerts.
– There are a number of irreplaceable things. But I’ve told people that I’m trying to get the essential equipment to be able to hold some concerts. So I can do what I can of my job, she says.
If someone finds the trailer and the equipment is recovered, she assures that people who participated in the fundraising campaign will be refunded.
The trailer that was stolen looks something like this. The trailer is of the Brenderup brand and has licence number SW 3648. The images are sourced from Brenderup’s website and reproduced with their permission.

As of Thursday, the trailer has still not been found. In the evening, she is set to perform a private concert.
– I’ll take a guitar that I had hanging in the living room for personal use,and my friend is bringing a ukulele bass that she had at home. So I’ll just have to make do, replies Heilo.
The road authorities are searching
Heilo now fears for her future as an artist. She has several projects that are now at risk if her equipment does not turn up.
The onyl concrete lead is a neighbor who reportedly observed the trailer being hooked up to a white Tesla Model 3 around 9 PM on Tuesday.
Heilo is in continuous contact with the police.
The latest is that the road authorities are on the case and checking all surveillance cameras.
