Twitter users will no longer be able to view an unlimited number of tweets, now there is a daily limit on the number of messages available for reading within the social network. This decision was made by the owner of the company, American businessman Elon Musk.

According to him, the decision is due to the fight against the “extreme level” of data collection from open pages (web scraping) and “manipulation of the system.”

As Musk explained on Twitter, the restrictions will be temporary. Now verified users will be able to view 6,000 posts per day, unverified users will be able to view 600 tweets, and new unverified accounts will be able to view 300.

Musk’s announcement coincided with a massive outage to the microblogging network that thousands of users complained about throughout the day.

At the end of October 2022, Musk became the owner of Twitter, buying it for $44 billion. After that, the businessman spoke out against online censorship in the United States and announced the publication of information about the suppression of freedom of speech.
