“SpaceX” has fired 7,000 Starlink devices from 2019 by us

Elon Musk now controls nearly two-thirds of all active satellites in Earth orbit. This week, his company SpaceX launched its 7,000th Starlink, which provides high-speed Internet connection.

The satellite constellation, built and operated by one of the most reliable private space companies, swells with an average of 3 satellites per day. The first 60 Starlinks were launched on May 23, 2019 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.

At last count, SpaceX has 6,370 active satellites in low Earth orbit, with several hundred more inactive or de-orbited. These are a little over

62% of all fired in Space satellites

and is roughly 10 times more than their closest rival, UK-based startup OneWeb. It is important to note that the company relies on SpaceX rockets to deliver its equipment into space.

Over the past 3 years, the number of Musk’s active satellites has increased 6 times. The billionaire’s company

plans to fired up to 42 thousand devices,

to complete the Stralink constellation. It is capable of delivering high-speed Internet and telephone connections to every corner of the planet. Starlink currently operates in 102 countries and has over 3 million customers.

However, not everyone is happy with this fact. On Wednesday, US Federal Communications Commission Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel said she wants to see more competition for the billionaire’s company because it has a very large share of internet traffic. And US policy allows monopoly.
