American entrepreneur Elon Musk said on the social network X that the far-right German party Alternative for Germany (AfD) will win an “epic” victory in the elections in Germany.
“The AfD will win an epic victory!” – he wrote, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.
On December 31, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in his New Year’s address that the future of the country is determined by its citizens, and not by the “owners of social networks.” He probably meant American businessman Elon Musk, who has recently publicly expressed support for the AfD more than once.
On December 29, Musk, in a commentary for the German newspaper Die Welt, explained why he believes that only the AfD party can “save” Germany. According to the entrepreneur, traditional German values have “failed” and led the country to economic stagnation, social unrest and the “emasculation of national identity.”
After this, Der Spiegel magazine wrote that German chancellor candidates Olaf Scholz, Friedrich Merz and Robert Habeck should put Musk “in his place” after his words about supporting the right-wing Alternative for Germany party. According to the publication, Germany has never experienced such an open attempt at influence from abroad, especially from a friendly country.
