Tesla has begun sales of its Cybertruck pickup truck in North America, the owner of the American electric vehicle manufacturer Elon Musk announced on Thursday, November 30.

Cheapest version electric pickup will cost $60,990, which is significantly more than the $40,000 promised in 2019, Reuters notes. The most powerful version of the pickup truck, the Cyberbeast, as well as versions with all-wheel drive, will be available to customers starting in 2024 at starting prices of $100,000 and $80,000, respectively.

“Cybertruck is already on its way to Tesla stores in North America,” Elon Musk wrote last week on his page on the social network X. According to the company, the car will be able to transport more than 1.5 tons of cargo, accelerate to 96 km/h in 2. 9 seconds and travel up to 800 km on one battery charge.

Tesla Receives 2 Million Pre-Orders for Cybertruck

The Cybertruck is Tesla’s first new model in nearly four years. “With Cybertruck, we dug our own grave,” Musk himself admitted a few days before the start of sales, explaining that the company would need from a year to 18 months before the sale of the pickup truck would affect revenue.

Previously, Musk announced that Tesla would likely reach annual production of about 250,000 pickup trucks in 2025, writes Reutes. Cybertruck bookings have already reached 2 million.
