Chennai: The Muslim organization in Tamil Nadu has condemned Pakistan’s boycott of the Chess Olympiad.
Tamil Nadu Muslim League President Mustafa Report: 16 players from Pakistan came to Chennai to participate in the Chess Olympiad. The central government has started the ‘visa’ procedures for them three months ago. Officially issued visas to Pakistani soldiers to come to India.
All these things are well known to the Government of Pakistan. Pakistan sent chess players on the basis that they would participate in international competitions. They also happily came to Tamil Nadu and stayed in Mamallapuram. The Tamil Nadu government has made all necessary arrangements for them.
In this case, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has suddenly announced that it will boycott the matches. Disappointed by this, the country’s players have returned to Pakistan with disappointment. Just a few hours before the start of the matches, Pakistan has invited the players back. It is seen in the world stage as a demeaning act of the country.
We condemn the act of Pakistan government to belittle India. In order to teach that government a lesson, the International Chess Federation should ban Pakistani players from participating in the Chess Olympiad.
