The State and Municipal Proncon services ended last Friday in Campo Grande

The national debt renegotiation program, ‘Renegocia’, ended last Friday (11) and was successful in terms of assistance. According to a report by the Procon de Campo Grande, there were 871 consumers served since the 24th of July only by the department.
Bank and non-bank debts could be renegotiated in the mutirão, regardless of the amount of the debt and the consumer’s income. The exception is for cases of child support, rural and real estate credit.
According to the Undersecretary for Consumer Protection and Defense, José Costa Neto, the event “was a total success, Procon attended to almost 900 people. There were calls, complaints, suggestions, in general. Everything you can imagine in relation to debts” .
He added that it met expectations and that the consumer protection entity fulfilled its role. “We brought Procon closer to the community, mainly to people who are living with the existential minimum”.
Costa Neto analyzed that it is a difficult time for the population with debt of 1.3 million people in the State. “We involve all the companies, all the entities that are part of our work”.
Finally, he said that in September, Procon Municipal will organize a new action called ‘We’re Quites’, which will be similar to Renegocia at municipal level.
Renegocia was an initiative of Senacon (National Consumer Secretariat), of the Ministry of Justice. The action aims to prevent over-indebtedness, when the consumer has a level of indebtedness that exceeds their ability to pay.
