The wait is finally over!
Fans of the hit film “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” can rejoice because it’s going into the third round! “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 – Family Reunion” has been in theaters since this week. The first part started 20 years ago – and THIS is what the actors look like today!
It was her own love story that she shared with the world. Actress and author Nia Vardalos (60) wrote the autobiographical script for the film “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” more than 20 years ago and also took on the leading role of Toula.

That’s what the first part is about: The main character, Toula Portokalos, is 30 years old, single and still lives at home with her Greek parents in Chicago. Finding a partner is not easy for Toula because her inconspicuous and simple appearance does not attract men.
Of course, her Greek-conservative family wants nothing more than for her to find a partner – but he has to be Greek!
After taking further training courses at college so that she can work in her family’s travel agency, she meets the teacher and American Ian Miller (played by John Corbett, 62) and falls in love. Day by day Toula blossoms more, dresses more fashionably and becomes more and more beautiful.

When Ian proposes to his sweetheart, Toula has to confess her love for the American to her family. Her father wants to forbid the relationship and there is a big bang. But the couple can look forward to a happy ending, because when the wedding is just around the corner, the family is reconciled again.
The film only cost $5 million at the time, but grossed more than 70 times as much. In the third part, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 – Family Reunion,” the family plunges into the next big adventure. This time it also affects Toula and Ian’s daughter Paris, who also finds true love on vacation in Greece…

Some faces from the latest part may still be familiar to fans. BILD shows you how the stars have changed over the past 20 years.
As a couple they are in love: John Corbett is best known for his role as Aidan Shaw in “Sex and the City” (1998). Four years later he played Ian Miller in the hit film. The Greek-Canadian actress Nia Vardalos only became famous through her own film.

Two decades later, they are still shining brightly. The best thing: The chemistry between the two is still there. They seem just as harmonious and in love as they did on the first day.

And not only the two main actors are playing again, also Andrea Martin (76, Aunt Voula), Gia Carides (59, cousin Nikki) and Joey Fatone (46, cousin Angelo), Lainie Kazan (83, Mama Maria) and Louis Mandylor ( 56, brother Nick) are shaking up the family again in their roles.
