My computer died after 15 years. Looking for a specification that is not for gaming (but with a horizon for it). Up to NIS 2500 roof. Not in Eilat. – Consultation before purchasing a computer

by time news

I have a FSP 420W power supply from my dead computer (the power supply is alive!), so I can transfer it to the new computer I think.

Also, I’ll be transferring a 3.5″ sata hard drive from my computer as well so I need to have some preparation for that in the case (I can put it in myself, just need the right cable I guess).

You don’t need a keyboard, mouse, screen, or any other peripherals.

Not an operating system either (planning to install Linux)

You only need the box and what’s inside.

Overclocking is not planned, nor does it need an upgrade horizon (perhaps a video card. Later…).

I don’t game, but want to keep an option for the future which means I guess basically that means the motherboard should fit (?) if I ever want to add a video card and maybe buy a new carrier as well.

But again, right now I’m not going to buy a video card so my current provider will be enough.

From my searches here, I decided I wanted to be up to date but on the lower bar.

So I want the i5-13400 processor + suitable cooling.

I would be interested in 16 GB of RAM.

I don’t care too much about amazing memory speeds, the main thing is that it should be 16 and reasonable for today… whatever that means.

As for a motherboard, it is not necessary to have wifi and bluetooth because I have a bluetooth dongle and anyway I intend to connect with a network cable directly to the router.

And again, I would also like it to be suitable for gaming in the future, or alternatively, not to limit me if I want to add any graphics card in the more distant future.

SSD drive at least 500 GB.

Regarding a case, I’m looking for something solid without colors.

Preferably quiet if possible.

From my searches here, I made a small specification (I took from here and there):

https://tms.co.il/builds/349916

To which I plan to add my power supply (FSP 420W) and the hard disk.

Do I need to add fans to the case or will the cooling for the processor that I added be enough and nothing more is needed?

(My dead computer has two more fans (one brings air in and the other takes it out, front and back), in addition to cooling the processor with a fan).

Are the components compatible with each other in general?

Can I add a moderate and reasonable video card to it in the future?

If there is something cheaper without lowering the level of this specification, I would really like to know.

Anyway, the price is great for me.

The question is if someone can give me confirmation that the specifications are reasonable based on everything I wrote above.
