-Yeah. But last season I was already perfect. But the people decided that he did not have minutes. The coach and coaching staff did not give me minutes.

-Yeah. Nothing.

-Nothing nothing. But since last year. There are those who think that I come from an injury. And not. I was already recovered last year, but I didn’t play. He was perfect. Sometimes I trained with the first team, and I didn’t play with B. The good part is that it helped me to make a longer, but safe recovery.
-It was hard?
–In the end, what you always want is to do what you like. When they take it away from you or you get a serious injury… It made me mature as a person and a player. In the end I got stronger from situations that are silly. Now I see with more maturity things that before I thought were very serious.
-In his beginnings in Mareo he swelled to score goals.
-Yeah. I entered when I was 14 years old. He came from Roces. And the first year I scored about 80 goals. The second in the league I scored 54, and I also scored quite a few in a tournament we played at Easter. In fact, I was summoned with the selection. Then strange things happened, which extended to the Division of Honor and then to the subsidiary. But hey, it’s a matter of taste.
Did you lose the illusion?
-No. But now I see football in a different way, as a job. I do serious things and that’s it.
– Is your dream still to play with Sporting?
-Yeah. (Diego sighs). I have photos with a year in El Molinón. They made me a Sporting member before I was born. My father (David) is very supportive of Sporting.
And do you still watch the team?
–Yes, but he has lost a bit of the illusion he had before because of what happened to me. When you experience situations that don’t seem fair to you… I still have the dream of playing for Sporting.
–He has one year left on his contract with the subsidiary, until 2024.
Yes, but they have to trust me. I hope to feel the confidence of the club. If not, then this is football, there are more teams. But of course I would like to return. It’s my dream. I have photos at home with Sporting shirts, with Sporting polo shirts. When I was little I used to paint mosaics with my father in the entertainment stands. Being more of Sporting than me, difficult.
