The coach of the women’s national handball team, Hamoudi Nasser, confirmed that his first goal is to build a strong team capable of competing in major international tournaments.
Nasser told the (INA), today, Monday: “The new technical staff for the Women’s National Handball Club seeks to bring the players to the highest levels of preparation to build a strong team capable of competing and ascending to the podium in upcoming foreign participations.”
Nasser added, “It is hoped that an expanded meeting will be held with the Football Association to discuss technical matters and learn about the Federation’s curriculum and requirements for the coming period,” pointing out that if he is chosen to train the national team for a specific tournament only, he will apologize for leading the team, indicating that he “aspires to prepare a competitive team over the years.” The next two years through the training curriculum that he prepared and which he will present to the Football Association during the next meeting.”
Nasser added, “The team’s assistant technical staff focused during the Iraqi championship on young female players, and 22 players were selected, including 18 young players and three experienced players,” explaining that “Iraq has a great chance of qualifying for the World Cup after the decision to qualify six teams from the Asian continent will be “Four strong teams and we are striving to be among the contenders for fifth or sixth place.”
