On the way he met a second bear, whose hair was brown. Finding a friend seems like a good idea for this too. So they are together. They looked around the forest, between the trees, in the bushes, sadly. First each individually, and then both together. “It’s easier with two people,” the brown bear realized as the two animals turned to each other in search of friends.
The cartoonist born in Prague Petr Horáček, whose books about “Greta Gans” have found many friends in Germany, tells this story in a few words and interesting pictures of – in the traditional style of it’s better – goes further than short speech. The two bears are part of the landscape that surrounds them and at the same time they emerge from it. On the other hand, the colors of nature respond to the emotions of the bears, to them at the beginning of loneliness and they grow friendly.
Then one bear disappears, the other suddenly realizes what it has in its new companion. The search begins again, but now not for a “friend” but for a person. That is a beautiful point of a beautiful book.
Friends at the end of the world
Schnüferl is smaller than the others and more shy, but perhaps that is exactly why the little creature is most receptive to adventure. So Schnüferl suspects that disaster is near, he sees eerie signs in the sand and gets the others to face the impending doom: a comet is crashing to earth, the idyllic Moominvalley with its peaceful inhabitants is still in danger, and soon a group. that Moomin and his friends will be on the move to perhaps find a way to stop the disaster.

In “Comet in Moomin Valley” there is a sense of anxiety at the beginning, a fear of the idyll, and the more Moomin and his friends leave home, the more threatening it is. But it also becomes more fun and beautiful, our companions of Moomin do not want to be without, and the events at the bottom of the dry sea or in the summer forest are worth all the effort.

Erfurt, today and in the Middle Ages

Laura researched Jewish life in the city at the time and created Rachel’s story. At the same time, he wondered what the situation was like in the Jewish community, which is still in Erfurt now, and used his talent for drawing to translate his knowledge into a graphic novel. Both Laura and Rachel tell their own experiences, Laura in the past, Rachel in the present. Author Pressler skillfully weaves them together. The fact that Laura had also learned that “Anyone who draws attention for free has a more difficult life” helped her to understand Rachel’s situation, which was very difficult in reality.
The grief system buster
An orphan, at the mercy of an unhappy mother-in-law and her hypocritical son, on the brink of poverty in a sweet time – what’s left for a child to cope with anyway? Despite all the sadness, Timm Thaler, the main character in James Krüss’s novel, has hope that is visible outside in his beautiful smile. It is a bitter place that Timm almost removes this smile from the grave and it is clear that he is very rich Baron Lefuet, as a result of the agreement that the child did not understand and which the growing boy tried to correct – under him the opponent’s face of it takes him to the world of the rich and powerful in order to control it. James Krüss told Timm Thaler’s story 60 years ago. It is still exciting, when we read the book and when we read the book aloud, and even though the events happened in a lost world, the essence of the story is still present. In the end, Timm blew up his opponent’s system with his own skill. And with the help of friends you find, even if you have lost your charming smile.
Is this a romance movie?
Everything goes wrong when Sebastian stands in front of the cinema for the beautiful and funny Helena and the enigmatic Frida appears in her place, who may have a completely different name, but who immediately captivates him. It’s orientation day at the university, Frida, Sebastian and Helena go to the lectures in order to then decide on the course of study. And while Sebastian experiences his life as a film in which the genres change – romance, fantasy, tragedy, comedy – Frida, with whom he spends this day, seems to always face him. You put yourself in situations in which you have to understand quickly and sometimes overcome yourself, sometimes fail. And he avoids your attempts to find out more about him.
“Ice Princess,” is what he called Frida after the girl from the animated film that reminded him of her. He just started to suspect what he was about, what he was hiding, when they met figures from their past. What seems like a funny, slightly strange game turns out to be a way to cover up a deep hurt, and Frida’s inner stories lead her away from her pain and then head back to her path in winding paths.
But Sebastian, his best friend Tolly and finally Frida don’t want to accept this anymore. No movie ending comes close to this book’s happy, redemptive ending.
A school trip of determination

Above all, however, the process speaks of a growing alienation between the educator, who is increasingly visible to the authorities, and the well-intentioned but often angry students. The process itself is becoming a document that the students no longer keep for the public, but only for the community they have sworn an oath to. Because the more the teacher tries to strengthen his ability, the more the students grow.
Tamara Bach wrote all this down with her usual confidence, surprise, full of humor and literary wisdom – as if to show us and her colleagues how to write for young people if you take them seriously in terms if their beauty requirements are not the same old this “young old” schmoozers are treated.
