Antonio Canales, the 64-year-old dancer, made a surprising return to ‘GH TWO’ this Sunday, just weeks after abruptly leaving the reality show following the death of his brother, Francisco Javier.

Visibly emotional, Canales expressed gratitude from the confessional, saying, “First of all, thanks to my mother, Shepherdess, that she is a champion. Of course, to all of Spain and to this great team that has given me so much love,” before reuniting with his fellow contestants.
Why Did He Return to the Show?
Despite his recent loss, the artist revealed it was his mother who encouraged him to rejoin the competition. “I wanted to go back because yesterday we were at home and my mother looked at me and said ‘the day your brother passed away, we had been seeing you’,” he explained. They were captivated by the show around the clock. His mother then made a heartfelt request: “If you want to make me happy, do it from there.”
The dancer has had an emotional reunion with his colleagues.
“I’m going to go for it and with great enthusiasm,” Canales stated, adding that he’s returning with a fresh perspective. “I come clean, because I have not left my room. I didn’t want to know anything and I don’t know what I’m going to find. I want to re-enter clean, without any filter, like the Antonio who entered.”
A Sudden and Heartbreaking Loss
Minutes later, Antonio Canales shared an emotional reunion with his housemates, who welcomed him back with warmth after his unexpected departure sparked concern.
Canales chose to be open with the other contestants about the reason for his leave. “The day I left, my brother had died two hours ago,” he revealed in the living room.
The artist wanted to share with his colleagues the reason for his abandonment.
According to Canales, his brother, Francisco Javier Gómez, “went to take a nap and never woke up.” He added, “My mother found it. It was a devastating heart attack.”
Canales described his mother as “a brave woman” who has faced numerous hardships. “He is the third child she has buried,” he shared. His return to the show is a tribute to both his brother and his mother, he concluded, earning applause from his fellow contestants.
