It’s my house An apartment in the center of Athens, recently renovated by our architectural office En-route-architecture, which we “run” with my husband Hannes Gutberlet and our team.

The point I enjoy In the center of the apartment you have on one side the view of the greenery and on the other the dense Athenian fabric. This contrast is for me a great pleasure.

The most beautiful room in my house Having removed most of the dividing walls, I would say that the house has essentially become one big room!

He is never missing from my house Charms of various forms and from various parts of the world, because they bring luck even to those who do not believe in it.

One can understand that I live here from The drawers I leave open in my attempt to get ready to leave the house.

If I didn’t live here I would live in the center of some big city. Anywhere with people and hustle and bustle.

Herself on the balcony. The stool is IKEA, painted in her favorite blue color. The library she has built with her husband is located between the kitchen and the dining room. The chairs are Viennese, her great-grandmother’s.

It gives me style in my space The light that transforms over time and during the day after the architectural interventions we made.

Decoration Ephemeral, stable variable.

Architecture Any space is designed on an architectural concept which is noticeable until its completion.

My balcony Our summer cottage, as we move a lot of our indoor furniture outside and continue to live our daily lives there.

Favorite piece of furniture The bookcase we designed which consists of shelves, an opening table, a window and an air conditioner.

Something modern The lack of walls in our house.

Something kitsch Many and necessary to appreciate the simple; from bags and clothes to lighting and fabrics.

Something old My great-grandfather’s wooden desk from Chania, converted into a low coffee table.

Something design The Aldo Rossi coffee maker I stole from my parents.

Something with sentimental value My jewelry. It is art and emotion, past and future together, in a portable size.

In the living room, the armchair and ottoman are Charles & Ray Eames, the IKEA lamp, placed on a wooden base made by her husband, on the wall an architectural drawing of the Brooklyn Bridge from a Whitney Museum exhibition, a painting by their son and a Japanese engraving. Map-find from a building that was renovated and on it slippers from Hydra and tamatas from Tinos.

Art at home From artists and non-artists. Children’s drawings, found objects, architectural drawings, sculptures of friends, lamps and more classic visual works.

My anxiety reliever To observe people.

A house I saw and envied Charles and Rae Eames’ home in Los Angeles.

With my family at home Somewhere on the floor.

It gives me style at home The fact that it changes with us and our needs.

Collection Rocks and shells from everywhere, ever since I can remember.

Holidays In winter I prefer big cities and in summer near the sea.

Colour Very bright pink is a color that evokes joy.

Inspiration People who love what they do and do it with dignity.

Fetish Take off your shoes at home.

In the children’s room, a painting by Giannis Kottis and most of the toys from Jack in the Box. Table – a family heirloom in the bedroom, where he usually works, because it is the quietest room. On it a collection of stones and on the wall a painting of her son.
