But if “never again” there is, whatever that means, it would only be after the concerts at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis) on September 27 and 28… 2024, postponement dates of those which could not take place by prefectural decision on June 30 and July 1, at the time of the riots following the death of Nahel M., killed during a police check. For this show, Mylène Farmer and her team have summoned the brilliant plumage, the long slender beak, the claws of the great raven – like the one placed on the shoulder of the singer on the cover of her album The other… (1991) – and the reminder, whether through the decor, the projections, of the dark romanticism with which the singer was often associated. First of all with the scenic device. In its center, the arch of the entrance to a cathedral, with gargoyles; on the sides, in a horizontal plane, clusters of colonnades with stained glass openings, rose windows; and, above the stage, the same inclined structure. This gives the impression of being both outside and inside the religious building, of having no reference points in space.

If the broadcast of the music video was not originally planned, the black and white images of the duo Farmer and Murat in a cemetery constitute an ideal introduction. And it is by the projection of a swarm of crows, which little by little invade the screen, regroup, swoop down towards the ground, a whirlwind from which Mylène Farmer emerges through a hatch, that the show begins, with the song The weather.
