Saharsa/Bhopal: The train coming from Saharsa in Bihar met with an accident in Itarsi, Madhya Pradesh. However, a major accident was averted. Two coaches of Mysore-Rani Kamlapati-Saharsa Express (01663) derailed. The accident happened when the train was coming to platform number two of Itarsi station. Thankfully, there were no casualties.

Mysore-Rani Kamlapati-Saharsa Express derailed

It is being told that the incident happened at around 6:20 pm when Mysore-Rani Kamalapati-Saharsa Express was arriving at Itarsi station. The train was about to stop at platform number two when suddenly B-1 and B-2 coaches derailed. At the time of the accident, the speed of the train must have been 20 to 30 kilometers per hour.

Many trains got stuck due to the accident at Itarsi station

Soon after the accident, railway officials and rescue teams reached the spot and evacuated the passengers safely. No passenger suffered serious injuries. The passengers evacuated from the coaches were shifted to other coaches. Due to the accident, the Itarsi-Bhopal rail route was disturbed, due to which many trains had to be stopped on the way. Trains like Samta Express and Jan Shatabdi were stopped at Budhni station.

Questions raised once again on railway security system

Railway officials said that the cause of the accident is being investigated. In the initial investigation, it is being speculated that the accident might have happened due to a technical fault. The OHE line of the railway was shut down to bring the bogie back on track. This accident has once again raised questions on the security system of the railway.
