A few days ago, a child in the city of Irbid, north of Jordan, was in the hospital, after he was bitten by a horse, which led to him contracting a mysterious disease whose treatment is not known until now.
The director of Princess Basma Ibrahim Shehabat Hospital revealed that the child who was bitten by a horse is 7 years old and is receiving treatment under medical supervision in the hospital, according to Jordanian media.
However, the doctor explained in statements to the local media that the horse died a day after the child bit it, as a result of a disease that is being investigated by the Ministry of Health.
He added that the child has been given two doses against rabies so far, in addition to antibiotics and appropriate treatment.
The child was bitten by a horse while he was in his home in the Northern Mazar District in Irbid Governorate.
In turn, Abdullah Jarwan, the father of the child, said in press statements that he transferred his son to Princess Basma Hospital, last Thursday, and was surprised by the death of the horse the next day.
He added that the head of the young horse that he was raising at his home was cut off, and it was sent to the Ministry of Health to find out the disease that caused his death, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, as it is a strange case that may be associated with a specific disease that afflicted the horse.
Regarding his son’s health condition, he indicated that the doctors gave him an anti-vaccine, but he is now in poor health and suffers from pain in his body, indicating that the doctors told him that the correct treatment for the child depends on knowing the disease that afflicted the horse.
