Mysterious structures are being built around the Crimean bridge – what did the Russians come up with?

by times news cr

“The peninsula is jammed with anti-aircraft defense systems as much as possible. Because for the occupiers, it has not only a pragmatic, but also a symbolic meaning. They sacralized both the Crimean bridge and Crimea itself. In fact, Russian aggression in Ukraine began with Crimea. And this is the main place for them,” D. Pletenčiuk said on the air of Teletilto, as quoted by “Unian”.

According to him, of course, Crimea is the base of the southern group of Russian occupiers. Here they recuperate, resupply, train and actually deploy certain units.

“Crimea is a logistics center. In addition, despite the fact that its operation is practically impossible now, the naval base in Crimea remains the main military base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet,” the military officer emphasized.

According to him, in Crimea, the enemy uses all available air defense systems – both long-range and short-range. First of all, these are systems like S-300, S-400 or even S-500.

“But how they can “effectively” repel attacks, we have already seen from the example of the small missile ship “Cyklon” of the project “Karakurt”, which had such an anti-aircraft defense system (it was defeated by the Ukrainians). However, the peninsula [ir tilto aplinkos] the armament is very large,” a naval spokesman said.

According to him, the Russians are building some sort of barriers around the Crimean bridge, but it is not yet reliably known when the occupiers will complete the construction of these objects and why they are there at all.

“They build in parallel on both sides of the bridge – it can be both a defensive structure and a technical one. I’m not ready to give 100% just yet. checked information about what exactly they are building there”, said D. Pletenčiukas.

There is an opinion that perhaps the occupiers are building these barriers to protect the bridge from storms. At the same time, according to the officer, the storm season is already approaching, so the probability that the occupiers will be able to finish these structures before it starts this year is very small. Also, according to the military officer, the question arises: will these structures withstand the weather conditions that will prevail in the Kerch Strait for the next six months (from mid-autumn)?

„Pancir-S1“

It can be recalled that recently there was information that the occupiers placed a Pancir-S1 demonstration anti-aircraft missile system on the Crimean bridge in order to protect it from Ukrainian forces.

According to the representative of the Ukrainian Navy, the possibilities of such a device raise some doubts. In this context, he recalled the “Cyklon” missile ship of the “Karakurt” project, which was successfully hit by the Ukrainians in May. This ship was used by the Russians as an anti-aircraft defense vessel to cover Sevastopol Bay, and it carried a “marine” version of the Pancir-S – but “it couldn’t defend itself”.

However, the speaker added that Pancir can protect against drones.
